majority of them date, therefore, to the last few years of the kingdom of Ugarit (i.e., to the years 1200–1185 in round figures).4 These particular situations may be defined topographically as well as temporally: some texts (see, in particular, text 15 [RS 1.003]) reflect a significant number of changes of location, while others (e.g., text 18 [RS 1.005]) explicitly prescribe processions. But those texts that do not refer explicitly to a place or places may reflect the cultic practice of a particular
